I fail to see how that fixes any problem, not that I was aware there was one with the exception of some not liking the fact that the HoD is getting more costly. If you were going to add a +5 energy hilt, you may as well just reintroduce the HoD at the crafters. The sword is nice for some niche uses but is not anything that is particularly exciting to be honest.

Adding a +5 energy sword upgrade would not greatly bring down the hod sword in price, as its real usefulness lies in the fact that you can have the extra energy as well as two other mods.

i believe they reason they removed the HoD was because they thought the +5 energy was overpowered, or else why wouldnt they have that particular mod? of course i coulkd be wrong and they could reintroduce it in factions.

If I could get my hands on a +5 energy sword, I probably wouldn't bother with wands or staves as much. Sword + focus = 17 energy. If you introduced the +5 energy mod on a sword, wands would come down in price.
I suspect that's why HoD was removed. A caster shouldn't be walking around with a sword.

Ok, what hilt is actually useful to a monk?
My Rebuttal to all your arguments is, weapons can be currently found with - 5 energy on them, why not +5 energy?
The HoD problem is the imbalance it has caused in the game...

I don't think that the HoD sword is imbalancing at all. You can get wands with +5 energy(while health is above/below 50%). So why not +5 energy always. I think a better fix would have been to instead of removing it to add like -20 health. You find weapons with +15% dmg and then a downside. So why not do the same with + energy? Allthough I would personaly love to have a +5 energy hilt to add to my HoD swords . Then they would add +10 energy.

The whole point of the sword is slapping on a +20% enchant duratoin pommel for 55 monk farmers. There is no +% enchant on wands that I know of, and having +5 energy +20% enchant is almost like being allowed to hold a staff AND focus at the same time (+5 insightful head +20% enchant dur, only thing missing really is the 20/20 cast/recharge and +10 energy inherent, but you get that from the focus, a net gain of 2 or more energy)
That is why the sword is valuable. Otherwise it would be a throw away.
If you put in a +5 energy hilt then you will be giving Warriors extra energy, and I thought the point of giving warriors low energy to begin with was a balance issue.

Runes can also be found with -75 health. Weapons can be found with -50 health. That does not mean you should also be able to find items with +50/+75 health. Things are the way they are for balance reasons.
